How
do you value your health?
Illness takes time to reach the symptom stage. Often there have been
several minor indications on the way, but we are taught to ignore
these, dismissing them as being ‘nothing’. Sometimes we believe that
it is selfish to think of ourselves, or to take note of what is
happening to ourselves. We might even think it is wrong to complain
or feel we have to suffer and live with the pain.
However, there comes a time in everyone’s life when these smaller
indications reveal a pattern which needs greater attention in order
to keep that vital energy. A vitality that could be lost for ever,
if we do not cherish and nourish it by taking some simple
precautions.
Health is something we do not always appreciate until we are ill.
Then we want to feel healthy as quickly as possible.
Dilys Gannon-Bone
Trained in the US and the UK as a naturopath using the benefits of
kinesiology and other modalities such as homoeopathy, herbal
medicine, nutrition, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT),
Neurolinguistic patterning (NLP) and colonic hydrotherapy to help
clients towards a healthier lifestyle which is emotionally stable
and fulfilled.
My approach is to act as an advisor and counsellor to help you find
the right route to better supportive health and happiness. As a
naturopath I take an holistic pathway to helping you discover how
best to improve your health and wellbeing.
Naturopaths believe that the body can be free from disease and
illness when the mind, body and emotions are in balance with one
another. Through a series of changes, the naturopath helps the
client to explore ways in which they heal themselves using the
naturopathic philosophy that the body is capable of healing itself
given the right conditions.
My mission statement is to help anyone seeking advice and support
towards a healthier and happier life. When illness strikes the
pathway seems lonely. There is so much conflicting information and
advice and at this time it is good to have a friend to help you
realize that it is not the end of the road. There is so much that
can be done to regain good health. Having been down that path myself
and survived a long time to change so many things, I am here to help
those who are prepared to seek, find and try many different avenues
to health and happiness.
What is a Naturopath
Someone who uses different and many avenues to healing, such as
nutrition, mineral and vitamin supplementation, herbs, homoeopathy,
emotional and psychological support and various methods of diagnosis
such as kinesiology.
What is Naturopathy
Naturopathy is an approach to health care which not only promotes
good health, but restores and maintains good health. Naturopaths
believe there is within the body a ‘Vital force’ or ‘Life force’.
When this is damaged by toxins from within and without the body
breaks down and we become ill.
Health is something we do not always appreciate until we are ill and
then we want instant remedies. Unfortunately, the body does not work
like that. It has often taken many years to become ill, with smaller
symptoms that we have ignored on the way. Healing cannot be done in
a few moments, the body needs time to recover and recuperate. It
requires love and nurturing. We are all so wonderful at loving and
nurturing others, but find it so hard to give ourselves the same
respect. This acknowledgement, realization and acceptance is one of
the hardest lessons for us all to learn.
The physical, emotional and spiritual parts must be integrated and
balanced in order to promote healing and health.
Preventive medicine
Taking preventative steps in maintaining good health is easier than
trying to recover that lost vitality. A vitality that may be lost
for ever, if we do not cherish and nourish it, by taking some simple
precautions.
Health is something we do not always appreciate until we are ill.
Then we want to feel healthy as quickly as possible.
